PerfectSense Paraffin AromaVapors Go “Au Naturel!”

July 5, 2016

We are thrilled to launch the next generation of PerfectSense Paraffin AromaVapors! Drumroll, please….introducing the Natural Collection!

The Natural Collection is something we have been working on for over a year now. Lots of research, smell tests, and coffee beans later, we finally found the perfect partner to offer us a selection of completely natural fragrances that are blissful!  We are proud that our Natural Collection contains blends that are comprised of pure and natural essential oils extracted from plants, including flowers, bark, stems, leaves, and roots.  They are also paraben and phthalate free.

The Natural Collection will consist of 12 AromaVapors each of Ruby Guava, Hibiscus Peach, and Spiced Amber.  (For those of you who received a paraffin treatment at our ISPA 2015  and IECES Philadelphia 2016 booths, you were lucky enough to get a sneak peak of the new fragrances!)

Ruby Guava is inspired by tropical sun and surf. This sultry and tantalizing fragrance mingles honey-like sweetness with crisp tartness.

Hibiscus Peach is a light, yet distinctive, fragrance that walks the tightrope of floral and sweet nectar. This romantic and alluring fragrance captures the beauty of the hibiscus flower and the juicy, lushness of peach.

Spiced Amber is exotic and sophisticated, inspired by rich Cashmeran musk and opulent spices. This comforting fragrance is a warm, earthy synergy of pine, clove, honey and vanilla.

So, what does this mean to you, our PerfectSense Paraffin client? When ordering your paraffin treatments, simply ask for the Natural Collection for your case of Hands or Feet.  Your case will include 12 AromaVapors each of the new natural fragrances.

We would absolutely love your feedback on the Natural Collection. We hope you, and your clients, love it as much as we do!

Cheers to Mother Nature!

Wow, that’s a Close Shave!

June 7, 2016

No longer just used for body treatments, Lava Shells and Glacial Shells now include facial protocols.  And, what better way to celebrate Father’s Day than with the Gentleman’s Lava Shell Shave/Facial Protocol!

Staying true to the long-standing art of the traditional wet shave, the use of Lava and Glacial Shells can greatly assist with a closer, smoother, and more comfortable shave.  For a great start, cleanse and exfoliate the face and neck with the skin care line of your choice.  (We love RA for Men’s Blue Agave Energizing Cleanser and Buffed Granular Scrub.)  This step will help remove dead skin cells, oil, dirt, and old cells that might be pressing facial hair down, blocking the razor’s ability to be effective.

Then, using the warm Lava Shells, begin massaging the face and neck.  The heat from the shells will help to soften hair and protect the skin against nicks and cuts.  The skin will ultimately be softer, the hair more pliable, and the pores open, helping to prevent ingrown hairs and providing a much less abrasive experience.

Post-shave, utilize the Glacial Shells to close pores and help reduce any inflammation or redness that naturally occurs during shaving.  Lastly, replenish the skin with a hydrating and moisturizing product such as RA for Men EnvirProtect Daytime Cream.

A clean shave has never been so relaxing!

Swoon for the Shell Facial!

May 16, 2016

Who says shell massage is only for the body? We can all agree, a Lava Shell gliding down your back is the ultimate in relaxation!  But, a warm shell is equaling relaxing on tense jaw muscles, brow bones and temples.

The Shell Facial is not only blissfully relaxing, it delivers a two-fisted punch! The gentle heat of Lava Shells relaxes the face and allows for easy manipulation of the connective tissue.  The cold therapy of Glacial Shells helps reduce facial inflammation, constrict large pores, and hydrate the skin.  When gently massaged on the face and neck, the shells not only stimulate circulation and eliminate toxins, but skin is firmed, toned and excess fluid is removed.

Assess your client’s needs and design the perfect Shell Facial protocol. Gently massage in between the eyes to help clear headaches.  Work the shells underneath the eyes to reduce puffiness and tension lines. Or, apply light pressure on the cheeks and nasal cavities to help clear sinus congestion.

Perfect for any skin type, Lava and Glacial Shells can be used with any skin care line to increase the skin’s absorption, carrying nutrients deeper into the skin. The luxurious technique of shell massage combined with your “go-to” serums, masks, and moisturizers, creates a tranquil and truly integrated sensory experience with immediate, visible results.

Benefits of Moist Heat

April 19, 2016

Our largest organ, skin, is a fascinatingly complicated system and deserves some TLC every now and then. A visit to the spa is a welcoming opportunity to address skin care concerns.  While a facial may be your first thought, pay attention to your hands, too!

Our hands work hard and can often suffer from strain and over-exertion, which results in muscle tension. Paraffin and other moist heated treatments offer many benefits and are more comfortable than dry heat, which draws out moisture from the body and may leave the skin even more dehydrated.

Warming treatment mitts are therapy for your hands….dilating the blood vessels of the muscles surrounding the pain and increasing the flow of oxygen and nutrients to the affected area.  Many ailments including arthritis, carpal tunnel, and poor circulation can benefit from the improved flexibility and soothing relief of such treatments.

In addition, deeper penetration of topicals is encouraged, cuticles are softened, and softer, more supple hands will emerge!

Spa Menu Revamp!

January 12, 2016

With the New Year upon us, is it time that your spa treatment menu could use a revamp? Now is the perfect time to assess your menu while asking some simple, yet important questions!   Does your treatment menu properly represent your spa?  Is your menu effective at selling at your treatments?   Do you have treatments that are not selling?  (If you answered yes, replace them with new options!)

Whether your clientele are repeats or newbies, the ideal menu will pique interest and motivate the reader to schedule an appointment right then and there! A well designed and structured menu will make a great impression.  Start off your menu with a kind welcome statement, followed by treatment descriptions that focus on the client’s benefits.  Further promote your services as “client experiences” with corresponding images that tell a story of your treatment.

When it comes to pricing your services, create a price list insert card. This will allow you to update pricing without replacement the entire menu.

When planning your menu, pay attention to treatments that can be upgraded. Almost universally, massage is the most popular service.  Create upgrades for your most demanded services, and make it easy for your guest to upgrade in-treatment.  Have a pair of Lava Shells and/or Self-Heating Hot Stones in each room.  With an activation time of less than 10 minutes, you can enhance any massage by adding heat to the treatment…and, you can demand a higher price point, with very little labor involved!

Lastly, less is more. Keep your menu simple by limiting the number of treatments.  A clean and organized menu will make it much easier for the reader to identify treatments and select the one (or two!) that appeals to them.

PerfectSense Paraffin…A Safe and Natural Product

December 22, 2015

Since our company was founded in 2005, our self-heating and completely PerfectSense Paraffin system has been our flagship product.  Probably the biggest hurdle with selling paraffin is the misconception that it is not safe or natural.

The term “wax” is used loosely to describe a large number of chemically different materials.  Generally, waxes are either naturally or synthetically derived.  There are three different types of natural waxes including animal, vegetable, and mineral.  Petroleum based waxes, including paraffin, fall under the mineral wax category.

Derived from ancient plant and animal forms that lived millions of years ago, paraffin wax is completely natural.  Paraffin wax is sourced from the ground and then undergoes a multi-step processing that provides clean, high quality organic products that meet the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requirements for use in food and food packaging.

Paraffin wax is used many food packaging applications that you may not be aware.  It is used in corrugated containers to impart moisture resistance and structural strength for packaging vegetables, meat, and seafood.  In drink cups, it is used to reduce liquid penetration through the paper substrate.  In canning jars, paraffin waxes are used to seal the top opening to protect preserves from hydration and mold.  Paraffin wax is also used to impart the “chew” characteristic of chewing gun.

In cosmetics, it is used as a safe base material, providing moisture barrier properties.  In dentistry, it is a crucial ingredient for modeling waxes.  Medically, it is used for the purpose of embedding tissue samples. Paraffin wax is also used in physical therapy applications.  It permits a greater release of heat for a longer period of time than hydro-therapy.

Lastly, in regards to our spa industry, paraffin wax is used help hydrate skin by forming an occluse mask.  The paraffin draws the body’s own moisture to the surface of the skin for deep, natural hydration. Skin is left incredibly soft and supple.

So, you can now experience the soothing  warmth of PerfectSense Paraffin and have incredible soft, supple skin without worry!

‘Tis the Season

December 8, 2015

During the hectic holiday season, relaxation is key to managing the naughty/nice list, planning the dinner menu to accommodate those who can handle gluten, and those who are intolerant, as well as making the home an inviting place for family and friends to celebrate!

American Spa makes “Scents” of Aromatherapy

September 17, 2015

Having recenlty received my September issue of American Spa, I was delighted to read their wonderful article, “Scents of Place.” This feature highlighted how special our sense of smell is and its unique ability to trigger strong emotional responses.   Ever wonder why a smell can immediately transport you back to a certain time or place?  This is because our sense of smell is directly linked to the part of our brain that processes memories.

With aromatherapy being an integral component of a spa’s ambiance, it makes sense to incorporate this element into as many treatments as possible.  We designed the PerfectSense Paraffin foot/hand treatments to have the added benefit of aromatherapy while the paraffin is melting.  Spas have the option of Lavender, Invigorate (a blend of eucalyptus, spearmint, peppermint and mandarin orange,) or Neutral.  If your spa has a signature scent, try the Neutral AromaVapor Solution!  The Neutral is unscented and you can add a few drops of your custom fragrance directly in the pouch before activation.

If performing a Lava Shell massage, further enhance your client’s experience by putting a drop or two of your custom, or seasonal, fragrance into the shell during the activation process.

What fragrance will evoke memories of your spa?
